What is the perfect time for dieting?
Both sexes (82%) say that their early 30s is the ideal period for sticking to a diet plan, because turning 30 is a watershed moment in their lives and they want to stay fit and healthy.
People are less likely to lose weight in their mid-30s and 40s, because they don’t care about their appearance as embracing middle age, according to 54 per cent of dieters.
Almost six out of ten slimmers (59%) reported that diets are more likely to go wrong in the 20s, because people are more likely to be single and to party more.
An important factor making it the optimum for women to slim is the likelihood that they had become mothers. Giving birth is a strong incentive for them to slim, with 56% saying it is easier to lose weight after childbirth than before.
Marriage is another factor that helps women in weight loss. Four out of ten female respondents (42%) say they found it easier to lose weight after marriage, because they are less likely to drink and eat to excess.
