Give our children roots and wings!

A friend tweeted the following picture the other day and it sums up our family view of bringing up Alexandros. Most of the times it is hard work to do either. Most of the times it is hard to even remember our roots. What is even harder is to let him go. Trust that he is capable of doing things himself. Even now, at the age of 3and ahalf I bite my tongue when he falls down, I let him get dressed on his own even though it means running late again. I let him do the small things himself. I have a feeling it will get harder as he grows older. But at the same time I know that the only thing he has to be is strong. Because I don’t want him to choose the easy path but to be able to have the strength to choose the direction he wants to, even if that is against the wind.
